NEWARK, DE -- The University of Delaware men’s tennis team won five of six matches played in a non team scoring match Tuesday afternoon at the Delaware Field House tennis courts.
For the Hens, Austin Longacre defeated Michael Stauble 6-2, 7-6, while Nolan Greenberg fell to Nick Tuxen 6-4, 6-3. In other singles action Delaware picked up wins from Sam Barrer and Jon Schwartz (right). Barrer breezed past Brent Kahl 6-0, 6-1 and Schwartz downed Brian Costello 6-0, 6-4.
In doubles action, Delaware went undefeated getting wins from Greenberg and Barrer and Longacre and Andrew Blumberg. Greenberg and Barrer defeated Tuxen and Stauble 8-6, while Longacre and Blumberg had an easy time with Costello and Kahl, 8-0. Both doubles teams improve to 2-0 on the year.
The Hens will return to action this weekend when they take part in the Old Dominion Tournament starting Friday.
