NORFOLK, Va. - Fourth-seeded Old Dominion earned a 4-0 victory over No. 5 Delaware in the first quarterfinal match of the 2009 CAA Men's Tennis Championship on Friday morning at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center in Norfolk, Va.

ODU earned the doubles point against Delaware as Tobias Fanselow and Matt Fawcett downed the Hens’ third-team All-CAA doubles duo of junior Austin Longacre and senior Nolan Greenberg (at right), 8-3, at number one and Yakov Diskin and Krzysztof Muzalewski topped freshman Andre Vorobyov and junior Camilo Perez, 8-2, at number three.

The Monarchs picked up three straight-set singles victories to wrap up the match. Aleksandr Seleznev, the CAA Player of the Year, beat CAA second-team singles honoree Longacre, 6-1, 6-4 at number one, Fanselow defeated Vorobyov, 6-0, 6-4, at number two, and Alex Funkhouser defeated freshman Courtney Scott, 6-0, 6-1, at number five. All other matches were left unfinished.

Delaware ends the season 10-5 (3-2 CAA).
