PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- Senior Austin Longacre won a pair of matches, but the University of Delaware men’s tennis team fell to host Pennsylvania University, 5-2, at Levy Pavilion on Saturday evening.

En route to earning the match’s lone doubles point, Longacre (at right) teamed with junior Gokay Celik to collect their sixth victory as a pair at No. 1 doubles. The Delaware (2-2 overall) duo defeated Pennsylvania’s (6-0 overall) Adam Schwartz and Justin Roth, 8-3. At No. 2 action, junior Chris Hincker and senior Sam Barrer notched an 8-4 victory over the Quakers’ Mark Milbrandt and Jason Magnes.

Improving to 10-2 at No. 1 singles, Longacre was the only Blue Hen to earn a win in singles play. The Landenberg, Pa. native upended Penn’s Eugen Brazdil in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.

The Hens return to the court on March 7 when they travel to Navy for a 12 p.m. match.
