SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- The University of Delaware men's tennis team advanced five individuals and a doubles team to the championships round of play on Sunday at the Swarthmore Tournament.
Senior Austin Longacre dropped a hard-fought 3-6, 7-5, 10-7 match to Andrew Wang of Johns Hopkins in the Flight A singles final.
Two Hens found themselves going head-to-head for the Flight B title. Sophomore Courtney Scott defeated junior Chris Hincker 6-2, 6-2.
In Flight C singles, Delaware's sophomore Andre Vorobyov was edged by Hopkins' Adam Hirsch 6-4, 6-7 (2), 10-7, while the Hens tallied a win in the Flight D championship as sophomore Jeff Marshall easily defeated Blue Jay Will Grist 6-1, 6-3.
Scott (at right) and Hincker were the only Hen duo to make it to the championship round. The pair fell to Casey Blythe and Jacob Barnaby of Johns Hopkins, 8-5, in the Flight A title match.
The Hens will next compete at Villanova University on Saturday, Sept. 26 starting at 12:30 p.m.
