At Stetson: Played two years at Stetson University primarily at No. 6 singles...named to the Atlantic Sun all-freshman team and the all-academic team his freshman year...went 8-6 in singles matches and 7-11 in doubles his first year...had a 9-5 singles record and tallied a 1-0 doubles record his sophomore campaign.

High School: At Florya played the at the No. 1 position and won the Istanbul, Turkish championships...considered the best player of the country...advanced as far as the quarterfinals in tournaments such as Iran Futures, Bosnia & Herzegovina Futures, Switzerland Futures, Georgia Futures, Turkey Futures, Greece Futures, Israel Futures and the Istanbul Challenger.

Personal: Gokay Celik...born April 14, 1989 in Istanbul...son of Cahit and Jale Celik...has an older brother Can who played chess in college...a business management major...hopes to own a sports club in the future...started playing tennis at age seven.
