Four University of Delaware men's and women's tennis players competed at Intercollegiate Tennis Association East Regional action Friday at Princeton and the University of Pennsylvania.

In women's action at Penn, Delaware sophomore Kristin Wasniewski (Archmere HS) and junior Rachel Dencker (Concord HS) won their first round doubles match with an 8-2 victory over Georgetown's Erin Kamemoto and Missy Mendes, tying the school record for career doubles wins at 26. Wasniewski and Dencker were then eliminated with a second round 8-0 loss to top seeded Meg Griffin and Lorraine Bittler of Maryland.

In singles, Wasniewski (7-5) lost to Harvard's Vedica Jain 6-1, 6-0 in the first round.

In men's action at Princeton, senior Ira Bernstein (Concord HS) lost to Columbia's Donny Opici 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 in first round single elimination action. Bernstein and sophomore Michael Murray were eliminated in the opening round with an 8-2 loss to Brown's Nick Malone and Sharad Kohli.
