ST. PETERSBURG, FLA. -- The University of Delaware men's and women's tennis teams opened up their annual Florida trip with victories over Eckerd College Monday afternoon. The Delaware men (9-3) won their third straight match with a 6-3 victory while the Blue Hen women (9-5) posted a 4-3 win. Ira Bernstein, Clinton Cole, Jordan Reese, and Sean Kelly each picked up singles victories to clinch the win for the UD men. Reese remained undefeated at singles play at 4-0 this season. The Delaware women got singles victories from Karen Greenstein, Erin Kamen, Elly Giese in their victory. Kamen and Giese each improved to 13-1 on the season with Giese extending her winning streak to seven. Kamen improved her career record to 50-5, becoming just the third player in UD history to record 50 singles wins. The Blue Hens continue their four-game trip vs. Jacksonville today (Tuesday) in Haines City, Fla.
