NEWARK, DE -- On Wednesday, March 26, members of the University of Delaware Student-Athlete Advisory Council traveled to Brick Mill Elementary School in Middletown, DE.
Attendees included Kate Noonan-Sessa (women’s track and field), Colleen Walsh (volleyball), Diana Hall (women’s lacrosse), Toni Riggi (women’s track and field and cross country), Alena Koshansky (women’s basketball), and SAAC advisor Deb Roche.
The fourth grade children were taught what a leader is and what characteristics it takes to be a leader. After a short discussion, the class broke up into groups and participated in some leadership activities and then discussed what parts of the activities had leadership characteristics. The children were quite enthusiastic and were eager to participate, making this a very enjoyable experience.
