Kerri Cebula begins her fourth season on the University of Delaware Athletics Staff in 2010-11 and her first in the newly-created position of Student-Athlete Eligibility and Financial Aid Coordinator.
Cebula (pronounced “suh-bool-uh”) will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the systems and processes by which all UD student-athletes are certified eligible to compete. She will work closely with new Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance Brian Baptiste.
The position will consist of coordinating, documenting, and monitoring the necessary paperwork and managing the critical timelines required to ensure proper certification of eligibility for all student-athletes. She will serve as the primary contact for athletics with the offices of admissions, registrar, and financial aid on campus.
Cebula earned her degree in political science and justice from American University in Washington, D.C. in 2000 and her Juris Doctor from Marquette University Law School in Milwaukee where she also was awarded a Certificate in Sports Law from the National Sports Law Institute of Marquette University Law School.
She began her career in athletics compliance at Villanova University where she served as a compliance intern in 2000-01 before taking over as assistant compliance coordinator in June, 2001.
While in law school at Marquette, she worked as an intern with the Wisconsin State Fair Park and the Pettit National Ice Center, both in West Allis, Wisc., and served as a legal intern with the Hunt Law Group, S.C. in Milwaukee.
She was a member of the Marquette Sports Law Review and served as a research assistant to Professor Paul Anderson, associate director of the National Sports Law Institute.
