Phil Tribble joined the University of Delaware athletics staff as Associate Director of Major Gifts for Intercollegiate Athletics in March, 2010.
Tribble, who most recently served in both annual and capital giving roles at Loyola University in Baltimore, will be responsible for raising money to fund new facilities projects and endowments for the Blue Hen athletics departments.
“I am excited to be part of a great University with outstanding leadership and an ambitious vision for the future,” said Tribble. “I have a good sense for the passion that our fans and supporters have for Delaware athletics. I look forward to working with Bernard Muir, the coaches, and the athletics staff to give our student-athletes the tools they need to succeed.”
While at Loyola, Tribble assisted with fundraising for Loyola’s Ridley Athletic Complex, a 6,000-seat stadium for lacrosse and soccer, which will open March 13. He also previously worked in development and in the athletics department at Gardner-Webb University and Duke University.
A native of Brazil, Ind., Tribble earned his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Notre Dame in 2003 and went on to earn both his master’s of sports administration and master’s of business administration from Ohio University in 2005. As part of his graduate school requirements, he worked as a ticket office assistant at Duke University in 2004.
He served as a promotions intern at Duke for four months in 2006 before serving one year as the Director of the Bulldog Club at Gardner-Webb University where he managed all aspects of the university’s athletics annual fund program.
He joined Loyola in May, 2007 and served as Assistant Director of Special Gifts, Coordinator of the John Early Society, and most recently Assistant Director of Annual Giving.
Tribble resides in Baltimore with his wife, Alison, and their son, Andrew.
