WILMINGTON, DE -- Last spring, 2005, the University of Delaware women’s rowing team prepared two meals at the Ronald McDonald House in Wilmington, DE as a part of the NCAA’s community service requirement.
The Ronald McDonald House, deemed, “The House that Love Built”, provides sleeping rooms and meals to families of children who are being treated at local hospitals.
Members of the team donated money to purchase all the supplies necessary to prepare a breakfast and dinner at the House. Ten girls came to the Ronald McDonald House on each occasion to cook for the families.
The breakfast group prepared a wonderful meal, complete with French toast, bacon, fruit salad, and muffins. For dinner, the team hosted a Mexican Night with tacos and all the accompaniments, Mexican rice, and dessert.
The family greatly appreciated all efforts and the meals that were prepared.
