1. The University of Delaware "Extreme Weather Conditions Policy" for professional and salaried staff states:
"The University of Delaware does not expect employees to take unnecessary risks to report to or remain at work. In cases where an employee decides, due to personal circumstances, that it is best not to report or to leave early because of adverse weather conditions and where the University has not issued a closing, late opening or early dismissal, the employee is expected to take annual leave or leave without pay, whichever is appropriate. "
2. All Athletics staff, including those who are faculty, need to ensure that both their supervisors and secretarial support staff are aware when their normal work hours are disrupted by extreme weather.
3. Appropriate forms for professional and salaried staff ("Request For Leave [Vacation/Sick Leave] forms") need to be filed with Athletics Office Coordinator in advance when feasible, or immediately following the missed time. Before submitting these to the Office Coordinator, they must be signed by the appropriate supervisor.
