
1. Non-championship season dates need to be declared and on file with the Manager, Compliance as required by NCAA regulations.
2. Requests for practice facilities, including dates and times, must be submitted to the Operations Associate at least two weeks prior to the beginning date.
3. Head coaches must arrange, at least one full week in advance, with the Equipment Manager, a suitable time for issuance of equipment, uniforms and practice clothes. 3:00 - 5:00 p. m. will not be an available time, Monday through Friday, due to in-season sport demands.
4. Head coaches must provide a sufficient quantity of practice clothing. Laundry for in-season sports will have priority. Equipment room personnel will not be assigned overtime for the purpose of doing laundry for non-championship season sports. Therefore, coaches need to anticipate and prepare for occasions when laundry needs cannot be met (such as weekends) by providing ample practice clothing.
5. Dates, times, opponents and sites of non-championship competitions must be submitted in writing no later than two weeks in advance to the Associate Director, Recreation & Athletics for approval and issuance/receipt of required signed contracts or confirming letter/email which must be on file prior to these competitions taking place. The Associate Director, Recreation & Athletics, will then send out confirmed non-championship schedules to Media Relations, Compliance, Internal and External Relations, Operations, and Senior Management Staff.
6. Non-championship season facility use will be dictated by in-season program needs as well as facility rehabilitation requirements.
7. Grounds crew attention to non-championship practice facilities will be minimal. All requests must be made through the Assistant Director, Operations and not directly to the Grounds crew.
8. All non-championship season transportation and lodging requests are to be made through the Supervisor, Events or coach as applicable. Any subsequent changes must be handled by this individual, as well. When Motor Pool transportation conflicts exist, non-championship season teams will be assigned to outside rental agencies.
9. Student athletes participating in non-championship practices or supervised conditioning MUST be examined initially or recertified through Sports Medicine before they participate if the non- championship season is their first participation of the academic year or they have sustained an injury since their previous certification.
10. No lockers or equipment will be issued to any student-athlete who has not been recertified through Sports Medicine.
11. Any use of DFH arena for conditioning MUST be approved by the Assistant Director, Operations. Student-athletes in the arena without supervision or permission, after building hours, will be told to leave.
12. All weight training conditioning must be coordinated through the Administrative Coordinator, Weight/Strength Programs.
13. Coaches, in non-championship season periods, may not require student- athletes to work out on either reading days or days when final exams are scheduled by the University.
14. Non-championship tournament/multiple opponent events must be approved per the provisions in #5. When entry fees, sales, etc. are involved to offset expenses, an administrative fee of 5% of gross revenue will be assessed. (Approved by AGB, 5/20/04). When net revenue is anticipated, the "Application for Revenue Events" form needs to be submitted. (Approved by AGB, 12/9/04)
