1. The demonstration and encouragement of sportsmanship in word and action is expected of all coaches, participants, Athletics staff and individual team personnel.
2. One of the important objectives of the UD Intercollegiate Athletics Program is "to demand sportsmanship, fair play and an adherence to the spirit as well as the letter of all applicable rules by coaches, athletes and spectators".
3. It is incumbent upon Athletics staff to create an environment and treat visiting teams and fans with the fairness, dignity and respect that parallels that which we would wish for our teams/fans when on the road. This applies also to appropriate treatment of officials. The role of coaches in influencing not only their players, but also their fans in this regard is highly important.
4. In accordance with conference rules, the Colonial Athletic Association Commissioner and Atlantic 10 Commissioner shall have authority to discipline coaches, student-athletes or administrators who exhibit unsportsmanlike behavior before, during or after a conference athletics contest.
