1. Summer sport camps operate in Athletics facilities with two primary objectives:
a. to provide supplemental income for our coaching staff, andb. to market University and Athletics facilities.
2. All summer sport camps operate as independent contractor structures (i. e. , as private business enterprises of the coach/camp director and not as University programs). As such they are subject to strict IRS regulations which must be adhered to. Detailed information is available in the "Independent Contractor, Summer Sports Camps Guidelines". Questions in this area should be directed to the Associate Director of Athletics, Internal Affairs & SWA. In addition, anyone interested in initiating a camp needs to contact this office in the preceding fall.
3. In spite of the independent contractor status, the camps are also fully subject to all NCAA camp-related compliance regulations and several requirements/forms apply. This is administered by the Compliance Officer to whom camp-related compliance questions should be directed.
This office also coordinates facility requests/reservations for camp sessions.
