
1. Telephones are provided for professional use. On a monthly basis, long- distance charges are distributed and staff members are asked to identify and reimburse the University for any personal calls.
2. Staff members are asked to utilize the most economical means of placing required calls.
a. Direct dial is the most economical.b. PAETEC credit card is next and is roughly 22% more expensive than direct dial in the evening and 16% during the day.
c. Collect (station to station) is next and is roughly 72% more expensive than PAETEC credit card and 78% than direct dial in the evening and 68% more expensive than PAETEC credit card and 73% than direct dial during the day.
d. 3rd party (charge to another line) charges are slightly higher than collect (station to station).
e. Collect (person to person) is most expensive, particularly during the day. Evening call costs are comparable to 3rd party, but daytime calls are roughly 75% higher than PAETEC credit card and 79% higher than direct dial calls.
3. Collect calls should, therefore, be avoided whenever possible.
4. PAETEC telephone credit cards are available to coaching staff upon request to the Office Coordinator, Delaware Field House.
5. Voice mail is provided on all published lines. All recorded messages by staff members reflect both Athletics and the University and must be appropriately professional. It is important for staff members to respond to messages in a timely manner.
6. Specialized or expanded phone equipment requests will be charged to sport program funding.
