Rutgers 3, Delaware 1 Delaware 4, Rutgers 3 April 12, 2000   Mark's 3-Run Double Keys Win in Game 2 PISCATAWAY, NJ - Junior Lauren Mark (Ursuline Academy) keyed a four-run sixth inning with a three-run double to lead the University of Delaware to a 4-3 win over Rutgers in the second game and earn a split in their non-league softball doubleheader Wednedsday at the Rutgers Athletic Complex. Rutgers (16-11) won the first game 3-1 behind the pitching of Leah Black to earn the split. The Blue Hens moved their record to 25-8 heading into this weekend’s four-game set vs. America East foe Towson at home. Lauren Mark's Bases-Clearing Double Keyed the Game 2 Victory Delaware opened the scoring in the first game when leadoff hitter Krissy Chrisztopulosz, who had two hits in the opener, singled, moved to second on an error, stole third, and scored on a throwing error by Rutgers catcher Danielle Minkel. But Black halted the Hens the rest of the way as she allowed just six hits to improve to 10-4. Rutgers scored two runs in the fourth on an error and an RBI single by Minkel and added a run in the fifth. Kristi O’Connell (11-6) took the loss for the Hens, striking out six in five innings. In the nightcap, Mark’s bases clearing double made a winner of Susan Dugan (Rising Sun/Newark, DE) who improved to 14-2 after scattering five hits and striking out 11 Rutgers batters. Rutgers cut the lead to 4-3 with a run in the seventh inning but Scarlet Knight rightfielder Quyan Tran grounded out to Dugan to end the game. Black (10-5) got the loss in relief of starter Andria Koehler. Mandy Welch collected two of Delaware’s 10 hits in the second game.
