At Delaware:
Second-year player for Blue Hens coming
off a solid freshman campaign...expected
to battle Kimberly Williams for the
starting shortstop position...could also
play third base or first base for the Blue
Hens.
2004 Season:
Tied the school single-season record by
appearing in all 54 games...started at
shortstop and led off for the Blue Hens in
every game...set the UD single-season mark
with 192 at bats...tied for the team lead
with 27 runs scored and ranked second with
eight doubles ...was third with 42 hits
and 50 total bases...batted .219 and
knocked in eight runs... went 3-for-4 with
two doubles and a run scored in the 4-2
win over Hofstra on April 10... also was
3-for-4 with two runs scored in the 4-2
victory over Rutgers on April 28... posted
eight two-hit games, including a 2-for-4
performance with a double and a run scored
in the 4-2 win over JMU on May 14 on the
second day of the CAA Tournament...was
2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored against
East Carolina on February 22.
High School:
Four-year letterwinner and three-year
captain at Woodbridge High School...earned
first-team all-district honors as a
sophomore (at second base), junior (at
second base) and senior (at
shortstop)...earned all-area honors as a
senior as well...also earned second-team
all-district honors as a
freshman.
Personal:
Michelle Dee Plant...born June 14,
1985...daughter of Donald and Diane
Plant...honor student as a psychology
major at Delaware...collects baseball
memorabilia...considers wearing number 13
one of her superstitions.
