At Delaware: Will assist the team in a variety of ways this season.
2008: Appeared in 16 games and started 10 for the Blue Hens • batted .129 with four hits and four runs scored • made two appearances in the circle for Delaware • hit a three-run home run at Army (4/23) • had a double and a run scored versus Morgan State (3/9) • scored a run in both games of a doubleheader against UMBC (4/30) • earned UD Team Sportsmanship Award.
2007: Appeared in 24 games while starting five for Delaware • batted .136 with three hits, a double, and three runs scored • went 1 for 1 with a double at Towson (3/31) • was 1 for 1 with a run scored against Rider (4/11) • went 1 for 4 with a run scored at Norfolk State (3/11) • named to CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll.
2006: Batted .250 in 31 games while making 19 starts • hit a three-run home run at James Madison (4/29) • went 2 for 4 with a double, run scored and two RBI at La Salle (4/5) • was 2 for 2 against Towson (4/14) • went 1 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI at UNC Wilmington (4/9) • was 1 for 1 with a pair of runs scored versus Bucknell (4/26).
High School: Four-year member of softball team • named team’s Rookie of the Year in 2002 and the team’s MVP the following three seasons • earned all-shore, all-county, and all-division honors as a senior • Matawan Regional went 23-5 and advanced to the state sectionals during senior year • also was a four-year member of the tennis team and played two years of basketball • earned six letters in high school • member of National Honor Society • treasurer of senior class • high honor roll student • member of school’s Help Hotline.
Personal: Marianne Elizabeth Marinella • daughter of William and Angela Marinella • is a volunteer with Special Olympics • honor student as a marketing major at Delaware.
