Delaware 4, Vermont 2 Delaware 1, Vermont 0 Hens Bounce Back as Mark, Wasilewski Set UD Career Records Lauren Mark BULRINGTON, VT -- Lauren Mark set the UD mark for career hits and fired a five-hit shutout in her final appearance as a Blue Hen as Delaware swept an America East softball doubleheader against Vermont, 4-2 and 1-0, at Archie Post Field Sunday afternoon. Mark's lone hit of the day came in the top of the seventh in the opening game. Her single was part of a three-run inning that erased a 2-1 deficit. The native of Hockessin, DE broke Lauren Baugher's career mark of 181 hits set from 1994-97. Susan Dugan, who had an RBI double in the fifth inning, picked up the win to finish the season 15-8. She allowed just one earned run and struck out four in the complete game effort. Mark went 0 for 3 in the second game, but shutout the Catamounts on five hits. She walked one and struck out six. in raising her mark Amanda Cariello drove in the game's lone run with an RBI single in the top of the sixth to plate Carolyn Wasilewski, who had walked and moved to second when Mark reached base on a fielder's choice. Wasilewski also tied a UD career record. The Pottsville, PA native started her 182nd game, tying Chris Brady's mark set from 1997-2000. Wasilewski holds the UD mark for games played with 186.
