Delaware 3, James Madison 0 James Madison 4, Delaware 0 April 6, 2002  Blue Hens Earn Split in CAA Debut   Amanda Cariello hurled a four-hit shutout to lead Delaware in the opener   NEWARK, DE -- Amanda Cariello fired a four-hit shutout as University of Delaware split its first CAA softball doubleheader with James Madison University. Delaware won the opener, 3-0, while the Dukes took the nightcap, 4-0. Cariello (7-5) struck out four and walked two and got all of her offensive support from freshman Randi Isaacs. Isaacs, a native of Slingerlands, NY, drove in two runs with a triple and scored Delaware's third run on Sarai Lavendero's RBI single. In the second game, the Dukes (16-10, 1-1 CAA) opened the scoring in the second inning with back-to-back doubles by Katie Jaworski and Keri Schlosser. The visitors tacked on three more runs in the third, chasing Delaware starting pitcher Jenn Joseph (1-5). Leah Conley (7-5) got the win for James Madison, firing a five-hitter and striking out four. Mandy Welch went 2-for-2 in the second game for Delaware, raising her career hit total to 176. She is six hits shy of the UD career mark held by former teammate Lauren Mark, who graduated last year with 182 career hits.
