Delaware 8, Lehigh 0 Lehigh 7, Delaware 3 March 28, 2002  Streets, Cariello Lead Blue Hens to Split with Lehigh   Laura Streets went 5 for 6 for the doubleheader NEWARK, DE -- Delaware and Lehigh used big innings to break open tie games in forging a split of their non-conference softball doubleheader Thursday afternoon. Delaware won the opener, 8-0, while Lehigh took the nightcap, 7-3. In the first game, the Blue Hens (7-12) broke open a scoreless tie with eight runs in the bottom of the fourth. The Blue Hens sent 12 batters to the plate in the inning. Laura Streets singled twice in the inning, the second scoring two runs. Winning pitcher Amanda Cariello also helped her own cause with a two-run double in the inning. Cariello picked up the win in firing the four-hit shutout. Over five innings, she walked two and struck out two to raise her record to 5-5 on the year. In the second game, the Mountain Hawks (12-7) scored four unearned runs in the top of the sixth to break a 3-3 tie. With two outs, Delaware shortstop Kelley Pastic tripped while fielding Elizabeth Gripp's ground ball. That opened the door for Lehigh, which responded with four straight base hits. Davon Ortega, Carrie Yeakel, Shana Treon and Shannon Blaha all followed with RBI base hits to break the game open. Streets finished the doubleheader 5-for-6 and is now 9-for-11 over the last four games.
