Delaware 7, Drexel 1 Delaware 1, Drexel 0 April 18, 2003 Streets' Game-Winning Double in Game Two Gives Hens Doubleheader Sweep   Laura Streets smacked a two-out game winning double in the bottom of the seventh inning of the second game to help UD extend its win streak to five games NEWARK, DE -- Sophomore Jenn Joseph struck out 10 batters in a 7-1 game one victory and junior shortstop Laura Streets broke a scoreless tie with a two-out game-winning double in the bottom of the seventh inning of game two, giving the University of Delaware softball team a doubleheader sweep over Colonial Athletic Association rival Drexel today at a rainy and cold Delaware Field. In game one, Drexel pushed across the games first run in the top half of the fourth but the Hens responded as Streets and Joseph opened the bottom half of the inning with back-to-back triples and senior third baseman Melissa Basilio followed with a RBI single to left field for a 2-1 Delaware lead. In the fifth, sophomore Jenny Gilkins plated sophomore right fielder Kelly Pastic on a triple to center field and Pastic then scored on a double by Streets. Joseph followed with a double of her own scoring Streets and junior catcher Laurie Erickson capped the four run inning with a RBI single scoring Joseph. The three triples in one game ties a school record that had been accomplished twice before. Gilkins, Streets and Joseph each had a double and a triple in game one. Joseph pitched 7.0 innings scattering seven hits and allowed one run to improve to 8-5 on the year. In the nightcap, Streets smashed a two-out double off the wall in left-center field scoring sophomore center fielder Sarai Lavandero from first base with the games deciding run giving Delaware five wins in a row for the second time this season. Freshman Lindsay Jones pitched a two-hit shutout walking only her third batter all season and struck out six to run her record to 6-3 on the year. Streets and junior first baseman Liz Winslow each had two hits in the second game. Delaware (14-14-1, 4-4 CAA) left 21 runners on base in the doubleheader while Drexel left 11.
