Lehigh 4, Delaware 0 Lehigh 3, Delaware 1 March 24, 2004   Boxscore   Liz Winslow recorded her 100th career hit and broke up the no-hit bid in the first game against Lehigh. NEWARK, DE -- Lehigh's Mary Wieder had three hits and two RBI in the doubleheader to pace the Mountain Hawks (19-6-1) to a doubleheader sweep of Delaware, 4-0 and 3-1, in softball action Thursday afternoon. In the opener, Emily Ling (7-1) fired a two-hit shutout to silence the Blue Hens' bats. She took a no hitter into the fifth before Liz Winslow singled to left field with one out. The hit was also Winslow's 100th of her career, making her the 17th Delaware player to achieve the milestone. However, Delaware (15-10) could not put a run on the board as Ling struck out 11 and walked two in her complete game effort. In the nightcap, Lehigh took a 2-0 lead in the fourth on RBI singles by Shanna Treon and Jessica Young. Delaware got one run back in the sixth. The Blue Hens loaded the bases with one out on three straight singles, chasing starting pitcher Kate Arico. Reliever Heather Hamasaki got Laurie Erickson to pop up and then got up on Jenny Gilkins with an 0-2 count. However, she then hit Gilkins with the 2-2 pitch to force in a run. Hamaski escaped further damage, however, when she struck out Lauren Gardner to end the inning. Lehigh got an insurance run on the seventh when Whitney Schenbeck drove in a run with a single after a pair of Delaware errors by Laura Streets got the inning started. Delaware will host James Madison in the first CAA series of the season. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game on Sunday.
