Volleyball Falls to James Madison 3-1 to
End Eight-Match Win Streak
HARRISONBURG,
VA (October 9, 2004) -- The University of
Delaware volleyball team fell to James
Madison on Saturday, 3-1 (29-31, 25-30,
30-27, 27-30) to end an eight-match win
streak that included four straight
conference wins.
Colleen
Walsh (Cleveland, Oh/Regina) led the way
for the Blue Hens with 17 kills and two
blocks, Val Murphy (Round Hill, VA/Loudoun
Valley) followed with 15 kills and seven
blocks, and Sarah Engle (Yorba Linda,
CA/Esperanza) recorded 14 kills. Allison
Lutz (Burnsville, MN/Burnsville) recorded
51 assists and Taylor Govaars (Balboa,
CA/Newport Harbor) added a team-high 18
digs.
For
James Madison, Emilee Hussack led the
offense with 16 kills as Ashley Copenhaver
posted 12. Nora Quish recorded 44 assists
and Jena Piesen posted 21 digs
Delaware,
which is now 15-4 (4-1 CAA) on the season,
will face George Mason on Friday, October
15 at 7 p.m. on Barbara Viera
