NEWARK, DE - American University's Ajola Berisha and Eneida Muzhaqi powered the Eagles past the University of Delaware 3-0 (15-9, 15-9, 15-13) Tuesday in volleyball. American (19-4) had a strong performance from junior Ajola Berisha, who recorded 12 kills and 11 digs. Teammate Eneida Muzhaqi added 10 kills and six blocks in the winning effort. Delaware (9-18) was led by junior Jennifer Wanner (Lancaster, PA/Conestoga Valley), who scored 13 kills while adding seven digs. Delaware was unable to rally from a streak posted by American in the second game of seven consecutive points. Delaware had an opportunity to take the third game, when the score was tied at 13. American rallied the two points to clinch the match. Delaware will next take to the floor on Saturday when it hosts conference opponent New Hampshire at 1 p.m. Sunday, Delaware hosts Maine at 1 p.m. Both matches will be contested at the Carpenter Sports Building.
