High School: Four-year letterwinner for Kings Park • named the most valuable player in 2006-07 • two-time All-League selection as an outside hitter • earned All-Conference laurels as a senior • also was an All-League pick in shot put for the track team • High Honor Roll student and an All-County Academic selection as a senior • member of the National Honor Society as well as the National Art and National Spanish Honor Societies.

Personal: Sarah Elizabeth Kahrs • daughter of Jim and Mary Kahrs • has an older sister, Alice, who was a four-year standout for the SUNY Cortland volleyball team • will major in mathematics education.
