The University of Delaware volleyball
team improved its record to 9-13 and 2-2 in America
East with a 3-1 victory over Drexel University
(6-15, 0-14).
The Blue Hens lost the first game
15-11 and then rallied to win the last three games
15-10, 15-9, and 15-13 to win the match.
The Delaware attack was lead by
Carlyn Cangiano (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial HS)
who had 17 kills and 14 digs. Jennifer Wanner
(Akron, Pa./Conestoga Valley HS) also had a
double-double with 12 kills and 14 digs. Wanner hit
.375 for the match. Margaret Lapinski (Wilmington,
Del/Brandywine HS) had 23 digs to led the Blue
Hens. Nicole O'Malia (Bethlehem, Pa./Notre Dame HS)
led the Hens with 28 assists.
Drexel was led by Kari Hall and Nancy
Sgagliardich who each had 14 kills. Zuzana Zemanova
led the Dragons in assists with 48 and in digs with
16.
