The University of Delaware volleyball
team fell today (Sunday) to Northeastern University
3-0. The Blue Hens fell to 10-15 on the season and
3-4 in America East play. Northeastern improved to
22-6 on the season and 5-2 in conference play.
The Blue Hens were again without the
services of outside hitter Kristen Merrill,who is
out with a shoulder injury. The Blue Hens lost the
games 15-6, 15-11, and 15-11.
Delaware was led by Carlyn Cangiano
(Ellicott City, Md./Centennial HS) who had 10 kills
and nine digs. Erin Brueswitz (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt.
Lebanon HS) also had nine digs and had a team high
.200 hitting percentage. Jennifer Wanner(Akron,
Pa./Conestoga Valley HS) had seven kills for the
Hens. Nicole O'Malia (Behtlehem, Pa./Notre Dame)
led the Hens with 25 assists.
Northeastern was led by Jessica Knott
who had 14 kills and Elizabeth Waclawik who had 11
digs.
