The University of Delaware volleyball
team improved to 8-12 on the season and 1-1 in the
America East with a 3-0 victory over the University
of Vermont (0-14, 0-2) today (Saturday) at
Carpenter Sports Builiding. The Blue Hens won the
first two games 15-2 and 15-5. Vermont battled back
in third game but Delaware came out on top
16-14.
Delaware was led by Jennifer Wanner
(Akron, Pa./Conestoga Valley) who had 11 kills and
three digs. Margaret Lapinski (Wilmington,
Del./Brandywine HS) led the Hens with nine digs.
Nicole O'Malia (Bethlehem, Pa./Notre Dame HS) had
18 assists.
Vermont was led by Emily Parsons who
had seven kills and seven digs. Jenny Grossheim had
a team-high nine digs.
