NEWARK, DE - Shannon Elliott's
debut as the head coach of the Delaware volleyball team was
a successful one as the Blue Hens defeated Niagara, 3-0, at
the James Madison Invitaional at Harrisonburg, VA.
Delaware (1-0) defeated Niagara by game
scores of 15-10, 15-7, and 15-7. The Hens were led by senior
Jennifer Wanner, who recorded 15 kills and three digs.
Freshman Allison Hunter added 21 assists, seven kills, and
nine digs.
Margaret Lapinski (eight kills, seven
digs) and Cameo Neeman (six kills, six digs) also came up
big for Delaware. Tricia Traczyk recorded seven kills and
eight digs for Niagara (0-1).
The Blue Hens return to action Saturday
as the tournament continues. Delaware will take on America
East foe Maine at 10 a.m. and will face host James Madison
at 3 p.m.
