Cameo Neeman led Delaware with 20 kills

NEWARK, DE -- Cameo Neeman (Wilmington, DE/Ursuline Academy) recorded team highs of 20 kills and five blocks to lead the University of Delaware volleyball team to a 3-0 (15-6, 17-15, 15-8) win over Morgan State in the first day of the Delaware/ASICS Invitational at Barb Viera Court.

Margaret Lapinski added 13 kills and seven digs for the Blue Hens (4-8), who rallied from a 14-8 deficit in the second game. Heather Ness chipped in a team-best 10 digs in the win.

Morgan State (1-13) was led by Yolanda McGirt, who had nine kills and seven digs. Jennifer Wanner recorded eight kills and six digs for Delaware.

In the first match, Rachel Harnack recorded 15 kills and four digs to lead Liberty past Lafayette, 3-0 (15-5, 15-4, 15-4).

The invitational continues Saturday with four matches. Liberty will take on Morgan State at 10 a.m., Delaware will play Lafayette at 12:30 p.m., Lafayette will face Morgan State at 3 p.m., and Delaware will play Liberty at 6 p.m. All matches will be played at Barb Viera Court in the Carpenter Sports Building.
