BOSTON -- Junior Kristin Deatherage
had 20 kills and hit .404 for the match to lead Northeastern
to a three-game sweep of Delaware, 15-6, 17-15 and 15-3, in
America East volleyball action at Cabot Gymnasium Sunday
afternoon.
After dropping the opening game and
falling behind 14-5 in the second, the Blue Hens (11-14,
4-5) rallied with 10 straight points to take a 15-14 lead.
However, the Huskies (14-11, 7-1) responded by scoring the
last three points to take the second game.
Delaware was led by frontliners
Margaret Lipinski (11 kills), Cameo Neeman (10
kills, four blocks) and Jennifer Wanner (10
kills).
The Blue Hens will return to New England
next weekend and take on New Hampshire Friday at 4
p.m.
