Margaret Lapinski posted 25 kills

NEWARK, DE -- Margaret Lapinski tied a career-high with 25 kills, but it was not enough as the University of New Hampshire volleyball team defeated the University of Delaware, 3-2 (10-15, 15-10, 11-15, 15-9, 15-8), Friday night at Barbara Viera Court.

New Hampshire (12-8, 3-1 America East) got 22 kills from Alyson Coler and 59 assists and 17 digs from Stacy Barnett as the Wildcats rallied for the win. The Wildcats notched 19 team blocks, while Delaware only recorded one.

Heather Ness recorded a double-double for Delaware (9-12, 2-3) with 14 kills and 14 digs. Kelsey Manning added 10 kills and 13 digs for the Blue Hens.

Freshman Allison Hunter notched 61 assists, and recorded 10 kills and zero attack errors on 12 attempts for a hitting percentage of .833, the fifth best mark in Delaware history.

The Blue Hens will look to bounce back Sunday when they host conference foe Vermont. Game time is 1 p.m. at Barbara Viera Court in the Carpenter Sports Building.
