INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- Keely Norris recorded 14 kills and Allison Cox added eight kills and a team-high 12 digs as host Butler University spoiled the season opener for the University of Delaware volleyball team Friday night with a 3-0 win in the opening round of the Butler University Tournament. The Blue Hens (0-1), coming off a 15-17 record in 2000 under first year head coach Shannon Elliott, will resume play at the Butler Tournament Saturday when the Hens take on St. Louis University at 2 p.m. and Austin Peay University at 4:30 p.m. The Hens will take on Maryland Eastern Shore in their home opener Sept. 4. Butler picked up the victory with game scores of 30-15, 30-27, 30-11. This year marks the first season that scoring is based on 30-point rally scoring. Previously, 15-point side-out scoring was used. Senior Cameo Neeman (Ursuline/Wilmington, DE) led the way for the Blue Hens with nine kills and five digs while Kelsey Manning (Downers Grove South/Woodridge, IL) added eight kills and three digs and freshman Sarah Engle recorded 19 assists and 11 digs. The Blue Hens were hampered by a negative .027 hitting percentage for the match. Butler, which hit .284 and posted eight blocks, also got eight kills form Kali Carter. Norris hit .375 for the match, collecting 14 kills with just five errors in 24 attempts. AGATE:
