September 27, 2002 Ommundson Leads Blue Hens With career-High 16 Kills
NEWARK, DE -- The University of Delaware volleyball team lost to James Madison Friday evening, 3-1, at Viera Court at the Carpenter Sports Building. Delaware dropped games one (30-18) and two (30-28) before rebounding to win game three, 30-29. Their rally fell short, however, as the Dukes (7-7, 3-2) captured game four, 30-20. Junior Liz Ommundsen (Northport, NY/Northport) led the Blue Hens (3-10, 2-3) with a career-high 16 kills and eight digs, while sophomore Valerie Murphy (Round Hill, VA/Loudoun Valley) notched 14 kills and four blocks. Junior Allison Hunter (Sandy, UT/Sandy) registered 40 assists and nine digs for Delaware. James Madison had four players in double-figures in kills, led by Dana Jones (19) and Jessica Evers (16). The Blue Hens return to action tomorrow evening when they take on George Mason at Viera Court at the Carpenter Sports Building. Game time is set for 7 p.m. AGATE:
