October 11, 2002 Blue Hens Sweep Seahawks for Third Conference Win NEWARK, DE -- Sophomore Valerie Murphy (Round Hill, VA/Loudoun Valley) posted 18 kills and sophomore Sarah Engle (Yorba Linda, CA/Esperanza) notched 13 as the University of Delaware volleyball team picked up their fourth win of the season Friday evening, sweeping UNC Wilmington, 3-0, at Viera Court. The Blue Hens (4-12, 3-5 CAA) won game one, 30-25, game two, 30-27, and game three, 33-31. Junior Liz Ommundsen (Northport, NY/Northport) recorded a 'double-double' with 12 kills and 11 digs, while fellow junior Allison Hunter (Sandy, UT/Sandy) registered 48 assists. Sophomore Taylor Govaars (Balboa, CA/Newport Harbor) had 11 digs for the Blue Hens, while freshman Jennifer Daniels (Lakewood, CA/St. Joseph's) posted six kills and seven digs. The Seahawks (5-13, 1-6 CAA) were led by Bea Gerevich with nine kills and six digs. The Blue Hens return to action n Tuesday, October 15, when they travel to Pennsylvania to take of LaSalle.
