MIAMI, OH -- The University of
Delaware volleyball team lost to the University of
Washington in its season-opening match, 3-0, on Friday at
the University of Miami Tournament.
Washington defeated Delaware 30-16 in the
first game, 30-17 in the second and capped the match with a
30-23 win.
Delaware was led by senior Sarah
Kerans (Newark, DE), who posted five kills, three
assists and one block, while teammate Sarah Engle
(Yorba Linda, CA) also registered five kills to go along
with seven assist and three digs. Sanja Tomasevic had 11
kills and nine digs for Washington.
The Blue Hens return to action at the
Miami (OH) Tournament Sunday, when they take on host Miami
(OH) at 10:30 a.m. and IPFW at 5 p.m.
