October 17, 2003 Pereira's 22 Kills Propels Patriots Murphy led the Blue
Hens in kills with 15. FAIRFAX, VA -- Reigning Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year Aline Pereira had 22 kills and 16 digs to propel George Mason past the University of Delaware, 3-1, in CAA volleyball action Friday night at John Linn Gym. Junior Valerie Murphy led the Blue Hens (9-10, 3-3 CAA) with 15 kills while sophomore Niecy Taylor notched 14 and four block assists. In addition, senior Allison Hunter had 48 assists and seven digs, junior Sarah Engle had eight kills and four digs, and fellow junior Nicole Stuka had six kills and four digs. The Patriots (8-9, 4-2 CAA) also received six kills and 11 assists from Jesica Umansky and 12 blocks (5 solo, 7 assisted) from Katie Gaudreault.
