October 3, 2003 Murphy, Hunter Lead Hens To First CAA Win of 2003 Senior
Allison Hunter posted 35 assists, 14 digs and six
total blocks. WILLIAMSBURG, VA -- Senior Valerie Murphy led four players in double-digit kills with 15 as the University of Delaware volleyball team downed William & Mary Friday night, 3-1, in Colonial Athletic Association action at William & Mary Hall. Junior Sarah Engle and sophomores Niecy Taylor and Jen Daniels each posted 12 kills for Delaware (6-8, 1-1), who won for the fourth time in its last six contests. In addition, senior Allison Hunter had 35 assists, 14 digs and six blocks, while junior Taylor Govaars notched 21 digs. Kat Lewis led the Tribe (7-7, 1-1) with 14 kills and Sarah Long added 13, while Amy Owens registered 27 assists and 14 digs. Delaware returns to action Saturday when it takes on UNC Wilmington in North Carolina at 7 p.m. AGATE:
