Taylor Leads Four Blue Hens in Double-Figure Kills

Freshman Jocelyn Greenwald posted 15 assists and three digs in the win.

NEWARK, DE -- Sophomore Niecy Taylor led four Blue Hens in double-figure kills with 12 as the University of Delaware downed William & Mary 3-0 in Colonial Athletic Association volleyball action Saturday night at Viera Court.

Freshman Claire McCormack posted 11 kills, six assists, and four service aces for UD, who evened its conference mark at 5-5 and climbed to within two games of .500 overall at 11-13. In addition, juniors Sarah Engle and Valerie Murphy had 10 kills each while fellow junior Taylor Govaars had 14 digs.

The Tribe (9-15, 3-8 CAA) was led by Mandy Mayo's eight kills while Kate Woffindin added seven. As a team, William & Mary had 18 blocks (two solo, 16 assist), led by Caitlin Geraghty with six (one solo, five assist).

The win was the second-straight shutout for Delaware and its seventh this season.

The Blue Hens return to action this Friday when they travel to Harrisonburg, VA to take on James Madison. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
