FAIRFAX, VA -- Freshman Kelly Gibson posted a game-high 18 kills and had 8 digs to lead the University of Delaware volleyball team to their second straight victory, a 3-0 (30-22, 30-21, 30-28) win over Colonial Athletic Association rival George Mason Saturday evening at John Linn Memorial Gym.
Junior Heather Ranck posted a game-high 20 digs, while sophomore Colleen Walsh, who ranks second in the CAA in kills (3.69) and points (4.21) per game, made12 kills. Seniors Niecy Taylor and Megan McGrath each recorded six kills, while junior Claire McCormack made eight digs.
The Patriots Jaqueline Kohler had a team-high 12 kills, while teammate Niki Bernardes posted a team-high 12 digs. Zulma Rojas had 11 digs in the match.
George Mason holds a 18-9 all-time advantage over the Blue Hens.
Delaware improves to 7-13 overall (4-5 CAA), while James Madison drops to 10-6 overall (4-4 CAA).
The Blue Hens will be back in action Tuesday, October 11 when they take on La Salle at home for a 7 p.m. match.
