 NEWARK, DE -- Freshman Kelly Gibson posted a game-high 15 kills and had 17 digs to lead the University of Delaware volleyball team to its third straight victory, a 3-0 (30-23, 30-18, 30-27) win over La Salle University Tuesday evening at Barbara Viera Court.
Junior Heather Ranck posted a game-high 26 digs to lead the Blue Hens, while junior Claire McCormack made eight digs. Seniors Niecy Taylor and Megan McGrath each recorded a game-high four blocks. Sophomore Allison Lutz had a game-high 36 assists while making seven digs in the win.
The Explorers’ Carolyn Judge had a team-high 17 digs, while teammate Stephanie Owen recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 13 digs. Jackie Kushman added 13 digs and Christa Dominick posted nine kills.
The Blue Hens hold a 24-1 all-time advantage over La Salle.
Delaware improves to 8-13 overall (4-5 CAA), while the Explorers drop to 7-14.
The Blue Hens will be back in action Friday, October 14 when they travel to Colonial Athletic Association rival UNC Wilmington for a 7 p.m. match.
