PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Zhen Jia Liu recorded a double-double with 21 kills and 12 digs as the Temple University volleyball team defeated Delaware, 3-0 (30-21, 30-25, 30-14), in a non-league match at McGonigle Hall Tuesday evening.
Colleen Walsh led the way for the Blue Hens with 13 kills and 10 digs, while Heather Ranck, who is ranked 24th in NCAA Division I with 5.32 digs per game, posted nine digs for Delaware. Megan Welch added 25 assists while recording nine digs in the contest.
Temple’s Ying Sun Ling posted a game-high 18 digs, while Colleen Egan made five blocks. The Owls now lead the all-time series, 24-16.
Delaware drops to 3-7 overall (1-1 CAA) on the season, with Temple improving to 4-6 overall.
The Blue Hens will be back in action Friday, September 16 when they travel to CAA opponent William & Mary for a 7 p.m. match.
