 NEWARK, DE -- April Hoffman recorded a double-double with 16 kills and 23 digs to lead the Towson University volleyball team to a 3-2 (30-27, 30-23, 22-30, 25-30, 15-10) victory over Delaware in Colonial Athletic Association action Saturday evening at Barbara Viera Court.
Freshman Kelly Gibson had 13 kills and 13 digs to lead the Blue Hens, while senior Niecy Taylor had 12 kills and a career-high 10 blocks. Junior Heather Ranck recorded 13 digs, while sophomore Colleen Walsh posted 10 kills.
Lindsey Hardin posted 16 kills for the Tigers, while Maddie Haseltine added 18 digs. Christine Grempler notched 11 kills and six blocks, while teammate Kimberly Snider had 10 kills.
The match marks the 59th meeting between Delaware and the Tigers, with the Blue Hens holding a 30-29 advantage all-time.
Delaware drops to 9-18 overall (5-9 CAA), while Towson improves to 22-6 overall (10-4 CAA).
The Blue Hens will be back in action Friday, November 4 when they travel to CAA opponent Northeastern for a 5 p.m. match.
