NEWARK, DE -- Sophomore Colleen Walsh recorded a double-double with 14 kills and 10 digs as the University of Delaware volleyball team defeated Colonial Athletic Association opponent UNC Wilmington, 3-0 (30-22, 30-28, 30-28) at Barbara Viera Court Satuday afternoon.
Senior Megan McGrath posted 12 kills, while freshmen Sue Wiker and Kelly Gibson each had nine kills. Junior Kristine Gneiss made a team-high five blocks as Delaware improved to 8-2 all-time against the Seahawks. Junior Heather Ranck (right), who is ranked 29th in NCAA Division I in digs per game (5.24), led the Blue Hens with 17 digs.
UNC Wilmington was led by Lindsay Moffitt with 15 kills, while Kate Bennett posted 16 digs.
Delaware improves to 3-6 overall and 1-1 in conference play, while the Seahawks drop to 3-5 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
The Blue Hens will be back in action Tuesday, September 13 when they travel to Temple for a 7 p.m. match.
