 CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Dee Dee Strickland recorded a double-double with 42
assists and 15 digs, while Meagan Daniel posted a game high 19 kills as the
University of Texas-San Antonio volleyball team defeated the University of
Delaware, 3-0, at the Charlotte/Spring Hill Suites Invitational at Halton Arena
Friday evening.
The Roadrunners won the match by game scores of 30-28, 30-28 and 30-27, in
the two teams first ever meeting.
Libero Heather Ranck led the Blue Hens with 21 digs, while Colleen Walsh and
Niecy Taylor combined for 17 kills. Megan Welch recorded 25 assists, while
Megan McGrath and Molly Rand each tallied six kills for the Blue Hens, who had
12 blocks in the match.
Delaware drops to 1-3 overall, while UT-SA improves to 1-0.
The Charlotte Invitational continues on Saturday with Delaware taking on Middle
Tennessee State at 10 a.m. and taking on host Charlotte in the nightcap at 7
p.m.
