NEWARK, DE -- The University of Delaware volleyball team continued its spectacular play as it downed Delaware State, 3-0 (30-17, 30-14, 30-18), Friday evening to improve to 11-0, continuing the best start in school history.
For the Blue Hens, junior Colleen Walsh recored a game-high 14 kills while only committing two errors. Junior Kelly Gibson (right) posted 11 kills of her own to go along with seven digs and a game-high five service aces, three of which came in a row for the second consecutive match.
Senior Heather Ranck led the team with a game-high 12 digs, while freshman Michelle LaLonde added nine kills.
Ayana Dyette had a team-high seven kills for the Hornets (0-8), while teammate Kyla Michalski posted 22 assists.
The Hens will return to action Wednesday when they return to CAA play and travel to Northeastern. Start time is 7 p.m.
