NEWARK, Del. - Members of the University of Delaware volleyball team held a clinic for Special Olympics athletes on Sunday afternoon at the Delaware Field House.
Less than two days after defeating Atlantic Coast Conference power North Carolina, the Blue Hens took time out of their busy fall schedule to work with local athletes of all skill levels and show them the finer points of the game.
The Blue Hens have a long history of reaching out to the greater Newark area and working closely with the community at large through various volunteer efforts.
"We give back in as many ways as we can to the community as a team and as individuals," said head coach Bonnie Kenny. "We are really fortunate and have been afforded lots of opportunities, so anything we can do to make a difference for someone else we try and do."
