NEWARK, DE -- Junior guard Cindy Johnson led six players in double figures with 18 points and sophomore forward Christina Rible recorded her fourth straight double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds as the University of Delaware cruised to its fourth straight win with a 87-68 non-league women's basketball victory over St. Francis (Pa.) Wednesday night at the Bob Carpenter Center. Delaware (7-3), which won its fifth straight game at home dating back to last season, outrebounded the Red Flash 52-36 and took advantage of 36 percent shooting (24 of 66) from the field. St. Francis (5-4), the four-time defending Northeast Conference champions and four-time NCAA Tournament participants, got 19 points and 11 rebounds from All-American forward candidate Jess Zenobile, but had a four-game win streak snapped. Forward Danielle Leyfert added 13 points and seven rebounds, guard Christine Koren had 12 points and seven assists, and forwards Renee Baker and Lindsay Davis each came off the bench to add 11 points in the balanced Blue Hen effort. St. Francis also got 14 points from Jordin Schaffner in the losing effort. The Blue Hens jumped out to a quick 13-6 lead five minutes into the game and never looked back, going up 43-31 at the break. The Red Flash cut into Delaware's second half lead, pulling to within eight points at 61-53 with 9:49 left. But Delaware's Leyfert keyed a 12-1 run, scoring eight points during the surge, to give the Hens some breathing room.
